Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It was Okay...
I was hoping for something a little more exciting than this...I've done yoga in classes at fitness centers, but this dvd kind of bores me...I'm constantly wanting her to pick up the pace a bit and go to the next movement. It's a long tape so I find myself eventually turning it off at the 40 minute mark because I've had enough.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Pretty good, but slow
This video was recommended to me by a friend because it targets appropriate yoga practice in all three trimesters of pregnancy. I do like how the video smoothly shows you modified poses for various stages of pregnancy. Overall though, I think the workout is a bit too simple. Most poses are not repeated more than one time, so I don't feel the benefit that I normally do from a regular yoga class. I may start watching it with the remote close by so that I can pause and do each pose a couple extra times!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Prenatal Yoga w/Shiva Rea
This yoga video is worth the money, Shiva's voice along w/the music in the background will keep you relaxed from start to finished. The stretches are performed by 3 teachers and you can follow the one you're most comfortable with. My husband and I do it together and we always feel so relaxed and healthy afterwards. I have never done yoga before, and didn't realize how healing and wonderful it makes you feel. I definitely recommend it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Not for beginners
I have been practicing yoga for about 10 years and found some of the positions in this a little difficult. It is definantly great for an experienced yoga practicer but I would not suggest it for a beginner. I am really happy with it and it will definantly keep a lot of the unwanted extra pregnancy pounds off.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pleased with purchase
At first I thought this video might be "too slow" (I am used to a regular and more vigorous Ashtanga practice) but I've come to really enjoy and look forward to the slower pace and very focused strength building postures. As I go through pregnancy, I am coming to find - everyday is not the same. I choose this on a day when I want to move mindfully and more gently. This is a good video to have in a collection and I use it frequently. Shiva does a good job explaining postures in detail and offering modifications depending where you are in your pregnancy.

It's a measure of the ongoing popularity of Karen and Richard Carpenter that the 2002 release of this video collection in DVD format comes nearly 20 years after Karen's death. The duo's heyday mostly preceded the MTV age, so this 15-song, 55-minute anthology is a bit of a visual hodgepodge, composed of still photos, footage from TV shows and concerts, promo clips, fleeting attempts at conceptual videos, and other weirdness (film of Carpenters albums being pressed on the assembly line? Hey, whatever). You'll see an array of bad haircuts and outfits and a whole lot of lip-syncing, but in the end, it's the music that counts. And the Carpenters' signature sound, with its brilliant arrangements, its lush harmonies, and Karen's exquisite alto voice, was easy-listening pop at its finest. If nothing else, Carpenters: Gold offers another chance to hear that music in all its glory. --Sam Graham

With a gentle tug at the heartstrings, Evelyn tells the true story of an imperfect father whose devotion brought much-needed change to rigid Irish law. It's a labor of love for star and coproducer Pierce Brosnan, who brings just the right touch of Everyman charm to his role as Desmond Doyle, a struggling Dublin tradesman, father of three, and chronic pub-crawler whose wife abandons their family the day after Christmas, 1953. Desmond's a loving father who's boyishly irresponsible; Irish law dictates the removal of his children to stern Catholic orphanages, and his battle for custody is aided by two lawyers (Stephen Rea, Aidan Quinn) who seize this opportunity to revolutionize the courts. With straightforward, unobtrusive style, director Bruce Beresford draws fine performances from Brosnan, Julianna Margulies (as a barmaid who inspires Desmond's sobriety), and especially young Sophie Vavasseur in the title role as Desmond's bright, determined daughter. Sentimental without being saccharine, Evelyn is simple, well made, and bursting with genuine Irish spirit. --Jeff Shannon
